I’m fine with them having these pretty non-invasive ads. I’m pretty insulted that people don’t want to pay more for my page views, these things are pretty bottom of the barrel, basically only above various scam ads that pretend to be download buttons or that trigger when you click on unrelated content.

I appreciate that it’s at the bottom of the page! Ads being a necessary evil and all, I can’t think of a better place for it.

But it’s still more obnoxious than it needs to be. As simple as it looks (no animation), it sure is putting a lot of strain on the page loading. I can see my computer hesitate when I scroll down to the comments.

So, they get rid of the eye-catching links with visual thumbnails to other articles within the network at the bottom of the articles, but they leave THESE spammy-ass chumboxes up with photos?

GOOD JOB, BIG HERB BUSINESS BRAINS. Way to get reade rs NOT to click on related content while driving them off of your website with all the garbage ads.

This place is slowly turning into Forbes.com, another site that noted herb Jim Spanf eller ruined.

I noticed today that view counts are gone. The thin-skinned herb must’ve caught on that everyone was roasting the hell out of Zombie Deadspin’s low view counts. It’s annoying on my end because I don’t have access to metrics anymore and double-checking as to whether something did well is a nope now without emailing someone on the staff. Yikes.
